Alejandro M. Deeb - Principal Associate

Dr. Alejandro Deeb is the Principal Associate at SEGURA who leads projects in climate change adaptation and mitigation, one of his key areas of expertise and professional interest. As a senior consultant at the World Bank, where he has been active since 1999, first as full time staff and later on as senior consultant, he has been a leading force in the preparation and implementation of climate change activities. His team has spearheaded the World Bank’s efforts in implementing concrete actions in the field in order to deal with global warming.

He obtained his PhD in Environmental Systems Analysis and Water Resources Management at Harvard University (1975); earned a Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Hydrology and Hydraulics at the University of California Berkeley (1970) and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia (1969).

He has written and edited several books, numerous technical documents and technical and scientific papers. Dr. Deeb has work in over 60 developing countries. He speaks Spanish and English and is a USA citizen.
