Melissa Brinkerhoff - Principal Associate


    Melissa Brinkerhoff brings over 25 years of experience in international business development in more than 40 countries in every region of the developing world. Her work has focused on creating innovative and sustainable approaches to economic growth in low income and transitional economies, encompassing all aspects of macro and micro-economic development. Ms. Brinkerhoff currently manages the SEGURA/IP3 Partners’ General Business Trade and Investment II (GBTI II) IQC. She is also responsible for the supervision of specific task order contracts, including the Africa Global Competitiveness Initiative – Knowledge Sharing and Analysis (AGCI-KSA) and the DCA Evaluations Program for the USAID Office of Development Credit Authority (DCA).


Prior to joining SEGURA Consulting LLC, Ms. Brinkerhoff was a Sr. Vice President at CARANA Corporation and before that, she served for over three years as a Senior Program Officer at the International Finance Corporation (IFC) Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Department. From 1993 to 2000, Ms. Brinkerhoff served as USAID's Senior SME and Microenterprise Advisor for Europe and Eurasia, where she was responsible for providing policy guidance and for designing and managing technical support programs in policy reform, institutional development and financing (including micro and SME lending and SME equity) in 22 countries.


Ms. Brinkerhoff holds an MA in Applied/Economic Anthropology from American University and a BA in International Studies from the University of the Pacific. She has a working knowledge of French.
